An Appeal to George Bush: the Scandal Video of Russian State Duma Vice-Speaker’s

The video is dedicated to the military preparations for American intervention into Iraq. It is quite old – it was made in Bagdad in September of 2002. However it had a great social response in Russia and in fact wasn’t noticed in the USA.

In 2002, in time of his visit to Iraq, Russian Duma’s vice-speaker Vladimir Zhirinovsky, the leader of Duma liberal-democrats and one of the most odious Russian politics gave the interview to Russian TV-channels “Moskovia” and TVS. Zhirinovsky in his informal and unofficial appeal to George Bush addressed critics to the American President and his government. Zhirinovsky’s speech wasn’t noted for any political correctness but was full of unconcealed threats and obscene expressions in Bush’s and his administration’s address.

Of course, this material couldn’t be put on the air but it was located into the WWW a few months later.

Download video from www.compromat.ru

Once a very few representatives of English-speaking audience can understand Russian I’m citing the contents of Zhirinovsky’s speech from www.compromat.ru in English missing numerous obscene interjections (they don’t represent any interest) but keeping the rest (semantic) part of the original speech.

“Don’t joke with the war. Here’re other guys. It’s not Germany, it’s not Afghanistan. George, they’ll tear in peaces your soldiers. 250 000 picked Iraq soldiers! They’ll smash you. They’ll go through the whole desert for an hour! They’ll blow up all your torpedo-boat destroyers, all your journalists, diplomats. George, you’re a cowboy. Stop, you, end it, hide your ammunition to the dump as far as you can and forget about your dad. We had one bustard, he revenged for his brother and the Great Russian Empire crashed (Zhirinovsky means Lenin, whose brother was put to death by the tsar government. – Dustman). And there was another cranck – he revenged for his grandpa and the Soviet Union crashed (It’s about Mikhail Gorbachyov. – Dustman). And you will repeat the same mistake. Forget your dad, dad’s done his work. Think of the future of America! It will go down! Your youth runs away from your country. Nobody wants to live in America, nobody! It’s the second-hand market. Dollar, dollar, dollar… This dirty green piece of paper! You’ve no soul, no music, no writers, shit! The whole world listens to Tchaikovsky, Dostoevsky, shit. Festivals, sport – in Russia only… And here, in Iraq. Here they love president and despise you, despise.
Your predecessor Clinton – they’ve got into his fly on his workplace exactly. It is already the full bull shit! She sucked in the office of the State Head. Is it America? What are you doing?! Monica, shit! What the fucking president? What the Middle East? Fucking suckers, masturbators, sods!

George, George! Watch some westerns! So many corpses, so much blood! There are killed, here are killed! I tell you here: look at this sky, shit, Bagdad! Bagdad is Berlin! It’s Kabul! You will never reach the victory as we know this people, we know this president. He is the only one on the planet to fuck you. The only one! All the others fawn upon you. They lined up for bowing to you. Here they’ve been standing up to you, and you can do nothing with your powerful fucking economy, with your million strong army, with the fleet, with rockets.

You’re bombing this land every day, you’re killing children and Iraq soldiers are sitting ready to fight. You are afraid to direct your soldiers here. And you were afraid some years earlier. But an apple doesn’t fall far from the apple-tree. You will never win. It is your last defeat. Napoleon played over Waterloo, Hitler played over Berlin battle. You will play over Bagdad. Bagdad is your grave. Caught, you, George, fucking cowboy? Back to Texas, to the rancho, go through your empty land and study Spanish. In New York they’ve been speaking Russian for years. We will direct to America 10 million Russians more and will elect our President. And you, George, will receive a good ward in Butirka prison. Understood, George?

And you will never be able to reach the victory. All Arabs of the world, all Moslems of the world, Eastern Europe, Moscow – everybody is against you. Moscow, Moscow doesn’t want this war to occur, and our President told it clearly, in Russian: “Take your hands away from Bagdad”. That’s better to fuck Tbilisi together. Baku, other cities. So much earth. Do you want us to put Australia to the bottom of the ocean? Should we show you our rocket? We’ve got so much weapon…

In the night our scientists will change the terrestrial gravitational field and your country will go down in the water. 24 hours and the whole your country will be under the water of Atlantic Pacific Ocean. Who are you joking with? Think over! Did you understand what Bonaparte had finished with, what Hitler had finished with, all others? You’ll make the historical mistake! Your dad won’t thank you. Forget him, your dad. Your generals tell you not to begin the war. It’s still not late! It’s only July, 21 of 1941.”

What Do Russians Really Think of the USA?

Some fresh sociological data. It’s for a start.

In September of the current year The Analitical center of Jury Levada (Russian Federation) published the results of Gallup poll, which was conducted in parallel with the survey of WorldPublicOpinion.org and Knowledge Networks Company. Here is cited «Russian» part of the poll as I believe American opinions of RF are clearer to the world.

For the most part Russians evaluate the US-foreign policy low. 61% of Russia inhabitants regard in general the USA have a negative impact on the world (25%, in the opposite, consider the American influence as a positive one). 74% of Russians believe that the usage of military forces or the threat of such forces application by the USA influence in a bad way on the world (an opposite point of view is supported by 22%). 56% of respondents are sure that the US foreign policy as applied to Russian Federation damaged Russia and its interests (22% think in a different way).

In their turn, Russian citizens tend to evaluate positively the actions of their motherland. 80% of respondents consider Russian impact to the geopolitical environment as wholesome. 65% support the contemporary strategy of military forces application or of their application threat.

The US political regime is estimated positively by 45% of Russians and 9% of respondents give the top-mark to it. Russian government provokes much stronger aversion. It is honoured with the top-mark of 5% only and with positive marks of 42%.

The analogous situation is observed in perception of economical systems of Russia and the USA. An American one seems more preferable. 27% of Russians evaluate it very high, good mark is given to it by a half of respondents. Russian economy has much worse rating. 3% of natives state the worst value of it, 28% think it’s good.

In their preferences for both Presidents – George Bush and Vladimir Putin – Russian citizens discover following opinions. Bush causes good feelings of 25%, Putin – of 84% of Russians. The American President repel 20% of Russian Federation’s inhabitants. Putin causes the same feelings of 2% only.

The poll’s authors also asked to estimate the level of the US and RF democracy (10 is a top mark, 0 is the lowest one). The first one received 6.66, the second one – 4.56.

Within the bounds of the present survey Russian respondents also uttered their opinions of China and Iran. Particularly, most of Russians (57%) think China has a constructive impact on the world (20% believe that it’s negative). But the interviewed people estimated the state of China democracy as quite low.

The poll shows that most Russians agree with the fact that Iran tries to make the nuclear weapons and 63% are alarmed with it. However just only 25% support the idea of economical restrictions application and overwhelming majority of respondents thinks diplomatic means are required for stopping Iran. And most of Russians (79%) dispute Iran nuclear objects bombing.

Well, how do you like it? Russian and American people have the common ground, don’t they?
